Please note this role could be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
As the Senior Investment Analyst – Fixed Income, you will support the Defensive Assets team in the implementation and oversight of HESTA’s internal Fixed Income, Cash and Enhanced Cash portfolio management activities.
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager – Fixed Income, you will be involved in portfolio management support, including portfolio construction, risk management, and trade idea generation based on quantitative analysis. Leading quantitative research initiatives, you will develop and refine investment processes while identifying new portfolio construction opportunities through data-driven analysis.
Your role will encompass risk management and compliance responsibilities, ensuring adherence to investment mandates and contributing to our risk management framework. You will design and implement quantitative models for interest rate and credit analysis, while creating and maintaining portfolio optimization tools.
About You
Essential for this role is experience in fixed income portfolio management combined with skills and experience in Debt Capital Markets and in the practical application of quantitative methodologies and techniques to Fixed Income Portfolio Management and Trade Execution.
The ideal candidate will possess qualifications in Finance, Actuarial Studies, Econometrics or related fields, along with intermediate to advanced skills in Python and/or R. Required experience includes financial modelling, yield curve analysis, portfolio construction, derivatives trading, relative value analysis and risk management in a Portfolio Management or Dealing Room environment. You will have well developed sector knowledge of defensive asset classes (credit, debt, cash) and FX and experience in portfolio construction and risk management.
