We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Risk Senior Partner – Commercial & People to join the Executive Office of the CFO in a highly visible, enterprise-critical role. This is a high impact first-line risk leadership position partnering directly with the Chief Finance Officer and the Commercial & People Leadership Team.
You will shape and strengthen the risk profile across Commercial & People, ensuring risks are proactively identified, governed transparently and managed within appetite. Your work will directly contribute to protecting our members, strengthening operational resilience and enhancing confidence with our Board, senior leaders and regulators.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Risk Partnership & Advisory
- Partner with the CFO and Commercial & People Leadership Team to align strategy with HESTA’s enterprise risk settings and strategic objectives.
- Support the CFO in fulfilling FAR accountabilities through robust reporting, oversight and risk governance.
- Act as a trusted advisor on Executive, Risk and Board papers, providing strategic risk insight and challenge.
Risk Governance & Reporting
- Operationalise the Board-approved Enterprise Risk Management Framework within Commercial & People.
- Enhance business risk reporting and lead effective risk forums that drive transparency and accountability.
- Monitor key risk indicators and escalate emerging risks in a timely and constructive manner.
Controls, Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Support the design, uplift and testing of controls to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement of the control environment through insights from audits, incidents and thematic reviews.
- Support regulator engagement (including ATO, OIAC and TPB) in line with our Regulator Engagement Procedure.
People Leadership
- Lead and inspire the Commercial & People Risk team with a clear vision and operational plan.
- Build capability, coach talent and foster a high-performance, accountable and collaborative team culture.
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience in first line senior risk partnering roles, ideally within superannuation or financial services.
- Strong understanding of the three lines model, enterprise risk frameworks, control environments and GRC systems including Archer.
- Demonstrated ability to operate credibly and influence at Executive and Board level.
- A strategic mindset with intellectual curiosity and the agility to navigate complex organisational environments.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate risk into clear, actionable insight.
- Experience leading risk initiatives and driving uplift in risk maturity and culture.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, risk management or a related discipline.
