As the Senior Risk & Compliance Specialist embedded within our Experience function, you’ll operate in a true first line capacity – partnering with accountable risk owners to enable balanced, well-informed decisions that consider member outcomes, operational delivery and regulatory obligations.
Reporting to the Risk Senior Partner – Experience, you’ll work at the heart of the business. You’ll collaborate closely with Experience leaders, the broader Line 1 Risk Community, Second Line Risk & Compliance and other enablement functions to how Experience manages risk and meets its compliance obligations in day-to-day operations.
What You’ll Do
- Provide specialist Line 1 risk and compliance advice aligned to HESTA’s risk appetite and regulatory obligations.
- Strengthen risk capability across Experience by embedding disciplined, practical and accountable risk practices.
- Support the identification, confirmation and evidencing of compliance obligations, including administrative and outsourced arrangements.
- Support effective incident management, including control uplift, compliance assessment and identification of potential reportable breaches.
- Enable structured and insightful Line 1 risk reporting that demonstrates active oversight of risks, controls and compliance obligations.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in senior first line risk and compliance roles within superannuation, administration services or broader financial services.
- Strong understanding of risk appetite frameworks and their practical application.
- Experience working with compliance obligation frameworks and evidencing requirements, including oversight of outsourced providers.
- Knowledge of operational control frameworks and risk assessment methodologies.
- Working knowledge of superannuation legislation and trustee obligations, including the SIS Act, Corporations Act, Privacy Act, AML/CTF requirements, and regulatory expectations of APRA, ASIC and AUSTRAC.
- Experience with Governance, Risk & Compliance systems (Archer preferred).
- The confidence and credibility to influence leaders and embed strong first line accountability.
- A curious mindset, disciplined approach and genuine commitment to member outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, risk or compliance (desirable).
