Are you an experienced senior strategic risk practitioner ready to pivot your career and make a significant impact? Step into the role of Senior Partner Risk Enablement and take the lead in enhancing and embedding risk management activities across our organisation.
In this pivotal second-line role, you'll collaborate closely with enterprise risk team colleagues, senior managers, executives and our first-line business teams to embed and operationalise enterprise risk framework elements, building risk capability and capacity and creating a strong community of risk practice across the business. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing resourcing, frameworks and structures that support effective oversight of our enterprise risk management framework within and across business teams.
As a trusted risk practitioner, you'll lead a team focused on forging strong relationships with leaders across business teams to build capability and capacity in their teams, as well as providing guidance and facilitating collaboration on risk initiatives. You'll empower teams by creating capacity and a community of practice to enhance first-line risk management activities.
What You'll Do:
- Risk Partnering and Advisory: Build and lead a team which will act as the primary partner to first-line business team leaders and their risk teams, working with them identify, assess, and prioritise key risks, and advising on effective mitigation strategies. Embed risk ownership within teams and integrate risk management into daily operations, aligned to the enterprise risk management framework and strategy.
- Building First-Line Resourcing and Capability: Lead the development of risk management capabilities within first-line teams. Deliver training and resources aligned with enterprise risk frameworks to enable effective self-management of risks.
- Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Ensure robust monitoring and reporting processes are implemented in business teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk expectations. Collaborate on analysis of risk indicators and reporting to senior management and Board.
- Risk Governance and Compliance: Ensure alignment with enterprise risk governance frameworks and regulatory requirements. Advise on governance improvements to strengthen accountability.
- Continuous Improvement and Risk Engagement: Promote a proactive risk culture, seeking continuous improvement in risk management practices and participating in educational initiatives.
About You:
You will have extensive experience in a second-line senior partner risk enablement or strategic risk advisory role (preferably within financial services), passion and commitment to fostering a culture of risk awareness and resilience. Deep knowledge and understanding of risk management frameworks and regulatory context (including ASIC & APRA requirements and Prudential Standards), GRC systems (Archer) and the three lines of accountability is essential.
Key stakeholder engagement and relationship management with proven ability to navigate complex organisational structures and work effectively with cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), influencing, business acumen and senior gravitas.
Tertiary qualifications in a business, commerce, law, risk and compliance management or related discipline is essential.
