Senior Investment Associate – Unlisted Assets (12-Month Maximum Term Contract)

HESTA is looking for a Senior Investment Associate to join the Investment Management team on a 12-month maximum term contract, providing additional capacity to the Unlisted Assets function during a period of increased project demand. This role sits in the heart of the Unlisted Assets team, working alongside the Investment Managers and Associates supporting due diligence, monitoring and origination work across infrastructure, private capital and property.

The extra resourcing reflects current project work associated with the introduction of a new unlisted data system, which has increased demand on the team's day-to-day due diligence and monitoring capacity. This is a genuine opportunity to step into a substantive, hands-on role with real ownership over fund manager oversight and direct/co-investment due diligence, ideal for someone who wants meaningful contract work with immediate impact.

What you'll be doing

  • Originating and assessing fund, co-investment and direct investment opportunities
  • Leading financial and commercial due diligence
  • Coordinating legal, tax, operational and ESG reviews
  • Perform financial modelling and analytical tasks such as:
    -    valuation bridges
    -    discounted cash flow analysis
    -    create sensitivity / scenario analysis

What you'll bring

  • Strong memo writing skills
  • Ability to construct an argument around investment decisions and effectively communicate that argument both verbally and in written materials
  • Significant experience in an investment analysis and company analysis role
  • Experience analysing fund managers and portfolios at a super fund, fund manager or research house
  • Experience managing transaction due diligence and investment implementation, with a track record of coordinating deliverables to strict deadlines across multiple stakeholders
  • An undergraduate and postgraduate qualification in business, accounting, commerce, economics or a related field
  • CFA completion, a Master of Finance or another relevant Masters degree is well regarded, though not essential
