As HESTA progresses on its investment internalisation journey, we have an opportunity for a Senior Investment Associate to join our investment team in a role that focuses primarily on directly managed unlisted assets in property and infrastructure. The Senior Investment Associate Unlisted Asset Management will assist with monitoring and enhancing performance of directly managed unlisted assets, as well as supporting acquisitions and due diligence requirements.

 

Key activities involve asset class reviews, asset management, developing asset strategies, relationship management, financial forecasting, risk and investment analysis. From time to time you'll also be involved in new investment opportunities, undertaking due diligence, driving research and strategies to influence portfolio outcomes, and providing guidance to investment associates in the team. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with the responsible investment team to identify and monitor ESG risks within the existing portfolio and drive responsible investment outcomes.

 

About the role

  • Assist with monitoring and enhancing the performance of directly managed unlisted assets in property and infrastructure
  • Support acquisitions and due diligence requirements for new and existing investments
  • Undertake asset management activities, including developing asset strategies and relationship management
  • Conduct asset class reviews, financial forecasting, risk analysis and investment analysis
  • Get involved in new investment opportunities, including due diligence and research to influence portfolio outcomes
  • Provide guidance to investment associates in the team
  • Collaborate with the responsible investment team to identify and monitor ESG risks within the existing portfolio and drive responsible investment outcomes

 

What you'll bring

 

  • A passion for unlisted assets, natural curiosity, and critical and logical thinking
  • An enjoyment of collaborating with other team members
  • Strong experience in asset management in property or infrastructure investments, including developing asset strategies, investment analysis, structuring, and stakeholder management and coordination
  • This experience gained with a fund manager, investment bank, super fund, investment consultant or in project finance
  • Experience with and exposure to analysis of fund managers and the process of managing investments, transaction due diligence and investment implementation
  • Desirable technical skills include accounting, corporate governance, valuations and financial modelling
