The primary focus of this role is supporting the portfolio construction and risk team to conduct research and modelling that will inform recommendations relating to medium-term and long-term strategic asset allocations. You will provide input on potential portfolio impacts from market dynamics and macro-economic factors, develop customised capital market assumptions and help coordinate the activities of the Analysts in the team.
Using your excellent quantitative and technical skills you will contribute to improving portfolio modelling outcomes such as volatility, correlation and return distribution profiles in addition to guiding the development and configuration of systems and tools used in portfolio and risk modelling.
By providing thought leadership you will contribute to identifying emerging opportunities and risks in the portfolios and products and provide input on potential medium term and dynamic asset allocation tilts and portfolio risks, collaborating with other teams to share your findings.
About you
With intermediate to advanced quantitative skills you will have some experience of Portfolio Construction approaches, monte-carlo simulation and other risk modelling considerations (e.g. VaR, tracking error, risk factor analysis).
You will have a good understanding of different asset classes and sub-betas within and across the total portfolio. Experience with Private Markets and Unlisted Assets (property, infrastructure, private equity) will be valued for this role.
Technical skills such as intermediate to advanced knowledge of VBA, Python, R, Matlab is essential. You will have experience in quantitative analysis and interpretation of capital market data to provide investment insights and recommendations, gained in an investment bank, super fund, or fund manager.
A collaborative working style and a demonstrated ability to work on a range of deliverables with strict deadlines and a range of stakeholders is essential along with familiarity with risk systems such as BarraOne, FactSet etc.
