As the Senior Investment Analyst – Fixed Income, you will support the Defensive Assets team in the implementation and oversight of HESTA’s internal Fixed Income, Cash and Enhanced Cash portfolio management activities.
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager – Fixed Income, you will be responsible for the development and ongoing delivery of all quantitative aspects of team’s investment process, contributing towards all research and development activities including decision support tool set and providing day-to-day quantitative support in the implementation of the portfolios.
You will assist in building and operating the analytic tool sets and frameworks required for the development, implementation and review of the portfolio investment management strategy, including the development and maintenance of portfolio construction, risk management and relative value analytic -tools.
As a keen follower of global debt capital markets, you will monitor portfolio exposures, returns and their interaction with key global macroeconomic trends and thematics, understanding how they may impact the portfolio. Additionally, you will assist with trade idea generation, trade execution, systems and portfolio management capability development.
This role could be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
About You
This role requires demonstrated expertise in Debt Capital Markets, along with strong quantitative skills applicable to the development of interest rate strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in the practical application of quantitative methodologies and techniques to Fixed Income Portfolio Management and Strategy design, contributing to enhanced portfolio efficiency and investment decision-making. You will have experience with financial modelling, yield curve construction and analysis, debt securities and issuers, derivatives, risk models and relative value analytics at a super fund, fund manager or research house. You have well developed knowledge of defensive asset classes (credit, debt and cash) and FX and practical and demonstrable experience establishing and automating quantitative portfolio management, risk and relative value analytic processes in a Portfolio Management or Dealing Room environment using tools such as Python, R, Matlab or an appropriate equivalent.
