Bring your authentic and passionate self to this exceptional role #careerswithimpact

We're looking for a Senior Derivative Operations Analyst to be our subject matter expert on derivatives, with scope to extend into other complex assets over time. You'll manage the Fund's daily ASIC OTC derivative transaction reporting obligations, support the operating model for derivatives, and help uplift and develop new derivative capabilities across Investment Operations — with coverage across the team's cash and collateral activities as well.

This is a role for someone who's comfortable owning complex regulatory obligations end-to-end, digging into detail, and working closely with third parties, senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to keep things running smoothly and improving over time.

This position could be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

What you'll be doing

  • Overseeing ASIC OTC trade reporting, including identifying and resolving reporting issues with third parties, and challenging third-party interpretations using your own judgement
o    Managing and maintaining reconciliation and validation rules within dedicated tools to oversee transaction, collateral and valuation submissions
o    Analysing trends and issues, including capability assessments of third-party delegates, and presenting findings at forums
o    Advising senior stakeholders on complex points of regulatory interpretation
o    Owning reporting requirements and validation for new internally-traded product types, ensuring vendor-built solutions meet regulatory obligations
  • Driving efficiencies and capability uplift, including in response to regulatory change, and keeping frameworks and documentation current
  • Overseeing implementation of new derivatives, providing subject matter expertise and helping operationalise new workflows
  • Supporting the fund's derivatives operating model, including counterparty documentation negotiations and new counterparty onboarding
  • Providing coverage for cash and collateral activities, including daily cash sweeps, liquidity reporting, and initial and variation margin collateral oversight
  • Contributing to strategic business projects across derivatives, cash, collateral and the broader Investments business

What you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a bank, fund manager, superannuation fund or custodian
  • A strong understanding and working experience of derivatives and other investment instruments
  • Experience in an operational role requiring strong numerical application and attention to detail
  • An understanding of investment structures and processes (superannuation or fund manager)
  • A proven ability to build positive relationships across a broad range of stakeholders, and to communicate clearly with both business and technical teams, including presenting to senior stakeholders
  • A strong understanding of the derivative end-to-end trade life cycle, and exposure to middle, front and back-office investment processes for derivatives
  • Knowledge of ASIC Transaction Reporting and collateral management obligations
  • Experience implementing change initiatives from initiation through to implementation
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
