Be inspired everyday

At HESTA we’re a leading national superannuation fund dedicated to people working in health and community services – a growing sector of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, day in day out, right across Australia.

More than 900,000 Australians trust HESTA with their money. So together, we invest $68 billion of savings globally. We're about creating brighter futures for our members. And a better world for generations to come. Our focus is on helping our members enjoy a retirement they’ve worked hard for.

The opportunity

Our growing Tax team are seeking an investment tax compliance specialist with a background in domestic and foreign tax compliance to come on board as an Investment Tax Analyst or Senior Analyst. Depending on experience, this position can be offered at the Analyst or Senior Analyst level.

Working across all areas of our business but primarily focusing on investment tax governance and compliance, you will take responsibility for ensuring that we maintain an appropriate level of tax risk in our investments’ portfolio. This role represents an opportunity to play a key role in a collaborative team with the potential to influence and shape the domestic and foreign taxation management systems within HESTA. Some of the key areas of focus will be investment tax maintenance tasks, including working with HESTA’s custodian and Investment Operations team where you’ll ensure the appropriate actions are undertaken for onboarding new investments and recording of significant events.

About you

Ideally, you’ll be CA/CPA qualified and have experience in the taxation of investments, financial services, superannuation, and funds management that you’ve gained at either another superannuation company, advisory firm or within a corporate function.  You have a sound understanding of the process of custodian tax reporting and an advanced technical knowledge of the taxation of investments, both domestically and internationally. Collaborative in approach, your functional expertise is ably supported by outstanding communication skills and an ability to provide accurate, professional, and credible advice to a wide variety of stakeholders.

Here’s a few things that you’ll get to enjoy whilst working at HESTA:

  • Your leave and time off matters: up to 6 days paid volunteer leave, additional 5 days of leave at the end year office closure, access your LSL after 3 years. Take Annual Leave at half pay, and purchase up to 2 weeks additional leave
  • Your financial wellbeing matter: 15% super, financial planning support, end of year payment for all Enterprise Agreement-covered employees, incentivised Employee Referral Program and novated lease options
  • Your professional development matters: between $2500 - $5000 per year professional development and up to 8 days professional development leave, HESTA scholarships and free access to a range of premium learning tools
  • Your health and wellbeing matters: free annual flu shots and skin checks, incredible social events throughout the year and a comprehensive employee assistance program available 24/7

HESTA is a great place to work but don’t take our word for it, we were named (again!) Employer of Choice for Gender Equality 2022.

It is important to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of all HESTA employees, and those people they come into contact with at work and reduce the risk of COVID spreading in the workplace and the wider community, therefore all HESTA employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

We’ll close applications when we find the right person, so get in quick before you miss this opportunity.
