We have a new opportunity to further develop our first line risk function across Investment Execution which includes: Investment Operations, Data and Systems, Performance, Risk and Operations Due Diligence.
In the role of Investment Business Risk Specialist, you will manage and evolve operational risk practices and awareness across the Investment Execution (IE) team, supporting team leaders fulfill their risk responsibilities based on the Enterprise Risk Framework, Investment Governance Framework, operational risk management in investments and meeting relevant regulatory requirements.
You will provide subject matter expertise, advice and coaching to the IE team on risk and control self-assessments, oversight and assessing the effectiveness of controls, incident management, implementing improvements and corrective actions.
You will review and monitor all IE team practices, business procedures and processes to ensure they are appropriately controlled, compliant with existing regulations, uplifted to address new regulations (e.g. CPS230) and aligned with enterprise-wide frameworks, policies and controls. This will include partnering with 2nd line regulatory change and risk teams and first line risk colleagues in other functions.
About you
Passionate about financial markets, you’ll be an experienced risk and governance professional who knows how to spot potential pitfalls early and turn them into opportunities for stronger outcomes. You’ll engage confidently with stakeholders—collaborative in approach, independent in judgment—helping to safeguard both performance and integrity.
Key to success in this role is demonstrated experience in an audit or risk team or similar first line risk role, experience dealing with regulator requests within the financial services industry and experience in the development and maintenance of operational risk framework requirements.
Essential knowledge includes demonstrable experience with control self-assessments oversight and assessing the effectiveness of controls.
You will have working knowledge of superannuation and investment management, including the regulatory environment, operational risk management including process mapping, controls and risks associated with data governance, middle and back-office processes.
