This role puts you at the center of how HESTA manages risk and opportunity across Australian and International Equities, working closely with the Portfolio Manager – Growth Assets, Exposure Management to shape decisions that affect the total portfolio. You'll build hands-on experience with sophisticated tools like Bloomberg, BarraOne and Simcorp Dimension, sharpen your market analysis skills, and contribute research. Over time, you'll develop the technical depth and industry relationships that open doors to portfolio management roles.

 


About the Role

 


Sitting within the Investment Management team, you'll support the oversight of HESTA's exposure management program, from portfolio monitoring through to investment execution. You'll work across a mix of analytical, research and governance tasks that keep the listed assets portfolio running smoothly and in line with HESTA's investment strategy.

 

  • Monitor and analyse listed asset class exposures and risks across equities
  • Prepare research, performance data and review documents for senior stakeholders and the Investment Committee
  • Help identify the most efficient ways to manage exposure, including smart beta, overlay, swaps and options
  • Support HESTA's Responsible Investment goals by embedding them in portfolio decisions

 

About You

 


You bring demonstrated experience in an investment analyst role or similar, with a solid understanding of equity markets and what drives them. You're comfortable working to tight deadlines across multiple stakeholders and enjoy the technical side of investment analysis and reporting.

 

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in business, accounting, commerce or economics
  • Experience analysing fund managers, portfolios or equity markets at a super fund, fund manager or research house
  • CFA study or completion (or a Master of Finance) highly regarded
