As Governance Paralegal, you’ll sit at the heart of HESTA’s governance framework, partnering closely with the Company Secretary, the Company Secretariat team, and stakeholders across Legal, Risk and Compliance. This is a hands-on role where your judgement, attention to detail and initiative will directly support Board and Committee operations and strengthen governance practices across the organisation. 

 

You’ll work with complex and often sensitive information, contribute to meaningful governance outcomes and play a trusted role in supporting critical business and Board functions. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing 

 

You’ll play a key role across a diverse range of responsibilities, including: 

  • Information & Disclosure Support - supporting responses to legal and statutory documentation requests, including information disclosures, notices to produce and production requests. 

  • Document Review & Analysis - reviewing, analysing and synthesising documents to retrieve relevant information and support decision-making. 

  • Governance & Board Support - assisting in the preparation and coordination of governance materials and supporting the effective delivery of Board and Committee meetings. 

  • Process & Systems Improvement - designing, implementing and improving tools, templates, checklists and document management systems to enhance efficiency and consistency. 

 

What We’re Looking For 

 

You bring great interpersonal skills, commercial awareness and sound judgement, with the confidence to use initiative, work independently and solve problems without constant direction. You’re curious, motivated and committed to continuous learning, with a collaborative mindset and a strong sense of ownership and accountability. You have qualifications in law (undergraduate essential), with paralegal experience and document review expertise preferred, a solid understanding of commercial law highly desirable, and strong written communication, attention to detail and Microsoft Office capability.
